Payment and Refund Policy

Last updated on 6 October 2026.

Scope of This Policy and Services Covered

This Payment and Refund Policy applies to all purchases of digital courses and professional resources offered through buzzlightup. The services covered include access to materials on studio equipment setup, dynamic camera operation, lighting and sound waves, and workflows for television news and live shows. It governs transactions made by customers in the United Kingdom and explains how payments are processed, when contracts are formed, and the conditions under which refunds may be granted. The policy does not cover third-party products or services accessed through external links.

Prices, Currencies, Taxes and Additional Charges

All prices are displayed in British Pounds Sterling (GBP) and include value added tax at the prevailing UK rate where applicable. Additional charges may arise for premium features, extended access periods or supplementary materials. Customers are informed of the total amount payable before completing any purchase. Currency conversion fees charged by banks or card issuers remain the responsibility of the purchaser and are not included in the displayed price.

Accepted Payment Methods, Authorisation and Security

Payments are accepted via major credit and debit cards, bank transfers and approved digital wallets. All transactions are authorised in real time through secure payment gateways compliant with UK financial regulations. Card details are never stored on our systems. Authorisation occurs when the payment processor confirms sufficient funds and the transaction is approved. Any payment declined by the processor will result in the order being placed on hold until an alternative method is provided.

Order Confirmation and Contract Formation

A contract is formed once an order is placed and payment is successfully authorised. Customers receive an email confirmation containing order details, access instructions and a summary of the purchased course. This confirmation constitutes acceptance of the order by buzzlightup. Access to digital content is granted immediately upon successful payment unless otherwise stated at checkout.

Cancellation Rights and Applicable Periods

Under UK consumer law, customers have a 14-day cooling-off period from the date of purchase during which they may cancel without providing a reason. Cancellation must be notified in writing to [email protected]. For digital content, cancellation rights end once the customer begins downloading or streaming the material. Subscriptions may be cancelled at any time but remain subject to the terms outlined in the special rules section below.

Refund Eligibility, Exclusions and Non-Refundable Items

Refunds are available for unused digital courses within the 14-day period provided no substantial portion of the content has been accessed. Non-refundable items include promotional bundles, completed live sessions, and any materials marked as non-refundable at purchase. Refunds will not be issued for change of mind after the cooling-off period or for failure to meet personal technical requirements.

Step-by-Step Refund Request Procedure

To request a refund, customers must email [email protected] with their order number, full name, and a clear statement of the reason for the request. Supporting information such as screenshots of access attempts may be requested. Requests are acknowledged within two working days and processed in the order received.

Inspection, Approval, Rejection and Notification

Each refund request is reviewed by our support team within five working days. Customers are notified by email of the decision. Approved refunds include a reference number and expected processing timeline. Rejected requests include an explanation and information on how to appeal the decision if new evidence becomes available.

Refund Method, Processing Time and Receipt of Funds

Refunds are issued to the original payment method. Processing typically takes five to ten working days after approval, although bank processing times may extend this to fourteen days. Customers should contact their bank if funds have not appeared after the stated period. No cash refunds are provided.

Special Rules for Digital Content, Subscriptions and Promotional Offers

Digital content access begins immediately, limiting cancellation rights once streaming or downloading starts. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date. Promotional offers are non-refundable once redeemed and are subject to the same 14-day rules where applicable. Partial refunds for unused subscription periods are not offered.

Failed Payments, Duplicate Charges, Chargebacks and Suspected Fraud

Failed payments must be resolved within seven days or the order will be cancelled automatically. Duplicate charges are investigated upon notification to [email protected] and corrected within ten working days. Chargebacks are treated as disputes and may result in restricted future access. Suspected fraudulent activity leads to immediate account suspension and referral to relevant UK authorities.

Mandatory Consumer Rights That Cannot Be Excluded

Nothing in this policy affects statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018 or the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations. Customers retain the right to seek redress through the courts or alternative dispute resolution services if they believe their rights have been infringed.
